CHARLES “PETER” PLUTO

CHARLES “PETER” PLUTO, age 75, beloved husband of 50 years to Robin (nee Mraz); loving father of Kathryn Crestani (Joe), Charles (Stacy), Amy, and Nathan (Cassie); beloved grandfather of Jacob, Carina, Ava, Charlie (Charles Peter Pluto IV), and Simon; devoted son of the late Helen (nee Kozak) and Charles Pluto; dear brother to Mary Seibel (Rick), Joseph, John (Anne), and Luke (Kerry).

Peter was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA into a large Polish-Slovak family. He grew up in McKeesport, PA and was a lifelong Steelers fan. He moved to Cleveland to get his bachelor’s degree at John Carroll University, then earned a master of regional planning at Penn State University. He worked as an environmental consultant, and independently studied for and earned his professional engineer’s license at age 53.

Peter and Robin raised their four children in the West Park neighborhood. After retirement, Peter loved substitute teaching at Saint Joseph Academy. He was interested in every single person he met, and found something good in everyone.

Peter was devoted to his Catholic faith and active in Our Lady of Angels Parish where he was member of the Holy Name Society. He relished being outdoors, fixing things, and spending time with family especially his cherished, exceptionally smart, and talented grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.

Passed away January 9, 2022.  The family expresses their deepest appreciation to the Cleveland Clinic doctors and staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Fairview Hospital for their compassionate care.

Funeral Mass Saturday, January 22, Our Lady of Angels Church (3644 Rocky River Dr.) at 11:30 A.M.  Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR.
