Unit: 168th Pennsylvania Regiment, Company I
Lucas Myers was born in 1823 in Prussia. During the Civil War, he was drafted into the army and was placed into the 168th Pennsylvania Regiment, Company I.
When his regiment was formed, it was stationed at Camp Howe and it was then moved around to different places until it came to Newbern, North Carolina on January 1, 1863, where it was thoroughly drilled. While the regiment went on multiple expeditions, it did not actually experience any combat though it did pursue Confederates fleeing from Gettysburg. However, after the Confederates escaped into Virginia, the regiment stopped its pursuit and was moved to Harrisburg where it was mustered out on July 25, 1863.
Following the war, he married Mary Huffman and together they had two children. Lucas Myers died in 1894. His tombstone is in section B.
